FACTORS THAT HINDER HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES TO PERSUE TERTIARY EDUCATION IN BARANGAY BAGUER, LIBUNGAN, COTABATO

This study aimed to determine the factors that hinder high school graduates of Baguer, Libungan, Cotabato to pursue tertiary education. It used the descriptive method with a survey questionnaire administered to respondents who were selected through purposive sampling. The data were treated using frequency counts and percentages. Qualitative data were categorized and analyzed.

The results showed that financial problem ranked as number one factor that hindered high school graduates to pursue tertiary education. Other common reasons were loss of self-confidence due to early marriage or pregnancy, lack of interest, and difficulty in studying.
